Wayne Brumm - Director / Founder / Management consultant
Wayne Brumm is the director and joint partner of the Pure Tennis Academy & Queensland Tennis Centre and is the owner of Pure Tennis Ferny Hills. Wayne is also the current president of Tennis Brisbane and is well regarded for his experience and success in the Tennis industry. He has been involved in playing and coaching tennis for over 30 years and has developed numerous junior players to a state junior ranking.
Wayne is an advanced level 2 Club Professional with Tennis Australia and has also achieved previous advanced coaching qualifications with Tennis Coaches Association and Australian Tennis Professional Coaches Association. He has taught the game at all levels and mentored over a dozen junior players through to achieving their own coaching qualifications in past years. Wayne has extensive experience in setting up and managing tennis sites and operations in various locations. Wayne has also co-ordinated many overseas tennis tours and events with great success. He is the current owner of the award winning Ferny Hills Tennis centre which he has operated for the last 10 years.
Chloe Casey – Pro Shop Administrator
Chloe is the air traffic controller of our tennis centre. You will find Chloe in the Pro Shop looking after all our customers & keeping everything organised and up to date. Its a big job but Chloe always does it with a smile on her face & she goes above and beyond to make everyone’s experience at Pure Tennis Ferny Hills a good one. Chloe works closely with the coaches and has the dreaded job of calling lessons and fixtures on or off depending on the weather! Chloe also coordinates and organising the North Brisbane Junior Cup across 3 local tennis facilities organising the grading, divisions & draws each season.
Rob Mark – Centre Manager
Rob is a qualified senior tennis professional with more than 25 years of tennis playing and coaching experience. Prior to commencing here at Pure, Rob was the head tennis coach at one of Germany’s top tennis clubs with past and present team players/members such as Boris Becker, Magnus Gustofssen, Guillermo García-López and Philipp Kohlschreiber, to mention a few. As well as being the head coach at various clubs in South Africa and the USA. Rob was a top 50 ranked player in South Africa, and competed internationally before committing himself to coaching.
Rob is also the son of the late Bob Mark, an Australian top 10 world ranked, multiple Grand Slam winner/runner-up and Davis Cup player. His dad’s fellow Davis Cup and tournament partners were Australian all-time greats Rod Laver, Roy Emerson, Neale Fraser, Bob Howe and Margaret Smith Court.
Paul Goodman (AKA Goody) is a Qualified Level 1 ATPCA Tennis Coach. He started coaching in December 2011 and has had experience coaching modified tennis as well as hardball tennis. Currently you will find Paul coaching several orange ball classes, green ball and hard ball classes. Paul also heads up our Hotshots Fixtures programs and JDS squads and is a very popular private lesson coach.
Paul started playing tennis when he was 10 years old, and names his proudest coaching moment as seeing his players enjoying tennis and having lots of fun. He also derives joy from seeing them improve from term to term, and even wining matches in North Brisbane Junior Cup and our annual Club Championships.
Ashley Teys is a Qualified Level 1 ATPCA Coach and has been coaching since mid 2011. Ashley starting playing tennis when she was 7 years old, and her career highlight was representing Met North in the Teams Carnival in 2011. Currently you will find Ashley coaching Hotshots at the centre & local schools. Ashley also looks after our Saturday Super League players and runs the pro shop on Saturday afternoons. Ashley’s proudest coaching moments are seeing students start in red ball modified tennis progressing to becoming strong orange and green ball players.
Tatiana Lawton, Evie Levonis, Piper Rengers & Caitlin Brumm – Hotshots Red tennis coaches
Tatiana, Evie, Piper & Caitlin are our Hotshot Red tennis professionals. They are all qualified in Hotshots & are all very caring and motivated coaches who love working with the kids and making sure they have a fun lesson every lesson. The highlight of their day is awarding the player of the week and seeing the big smiles from the kids when they take the trophy home!
